After the winter, Marko is still called a “revolutionary,” but by different people and in a different part of town.
Marko was blacklisted from the shelter system because, he says, he spoke out against inhumane guards and mismanagement at a shelter. He now lives in a community garden in Brooklyn, the Bushwick City Farm.
The garden has become a hub where he and other migrants wait, work and sleep.
