In April, Marko decided to take one of the free flights offered to migrants who want to leave New York City.

Shortly after his arrival in Chicago he became unreachable for several weeks. This is one of the last messages Marko sent:


It's not good here.


No friends, no work, no bed, no money to come back.


I made a mistake and spent this free ticket for nothing.


It is so cold here, I sleep under a tree at Lake Michigan and in trains.


A deep, depressing feeling.
